Saint Lucia, home to the BodHoliday is one of the Windward Islands in the Lesser Antilles that trail down from the larger West Indian islands like Puerto Rico and Cuba. It’s just like a pearl necklace floating in the Caribbean Sea. Saint Lucia is arguably also one of the most beautiful of these Caribbean jewels. Lush tropical rainforest rimmed with powder sand beaches, this tiny island, measuring 27 miles long by 14 miles wide, is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and The Pitons, two mountain peaks listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Gros Pitons Climb
The Pitons are the most famous landmark of Saint Lucia and the Caribbean and have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. These Twin Peaks , Gros and Petit Piton, stand side by side on the island’s west coast, standing as sentinels guarding the Val des Pitons. For this adventure, we ascend the majestic Gros Piton, the bigger of the two. You might be lost for words at the summit, taking in the magnificent, breathtaking views.

Piton Nature Walk
If climbing to the top of Gros Piton seems daunting, we have designed a Nature Trail which is exhilarating but not so strenuous. It is possible to drive up the mountains on the landward side, leaving an easier hike to the Pitons. You will still enjoy the most breathtaking scenery and views. Along the way, there is a lot to learn about St. Lucian culture, history, and exotic horticulture, as revealed by your guides. After the hike, a short drive brings you to Diamond Falls, where warm mineral water cascade 30 feet into a pool below. The warm waters from the three mineral pools below the Falls will make for an ideal rest stop.

The West Coast Tour

St. Lucia’s west coast combines spectacular mountain peaks which flow dramatically into valleys. The first stop is at historic Morne Fortune, followed by a drive through the island’s largest banana plantation. The ultimate destination is the town of Soufriere, which is a base for exploring many of Saint Lucia’s best treasures; The Sulphur Springs, Diamond Falls, Natural Mineral baths and lush Botanical gardens. After a delicious Creole lunch, a visit to Marigot Bay is included on your return to the resort.

Whales and Dolphin Watching Experience

The waters surrounding the island are rich in wildlife. Dolphins are plentiful and almost impossible to miss a few miles from shore. You will not be disappointed as; inevitably, they will play and frolic in the bow waves and alongside the boat. It’s as if they love to perform for us.
The whales around our shores will display just how magnificent they are. Up close to nature like this is inspiring and lifts the spirit. You might see any of the following. The Sperm (45ft), the Pilot (20ft) and the Humpback (60ft). Occasionally, we also see Orcas (The notorious Killer Whale 30ft). Amazing!!

Snorkelling trip to the Pitons
Snorkel Trip to the Pitons
Every Thursday leaving the resort at 8:30 am on our Dive Boat, “Tiny”, we take guests to two special sites renowned for snorkelling. These sites are teeming with tropical fish both at the Pitons and a little further back towards the North. Around the pretty coral reefs, the fish present a blaze of colour. (Colours are more vibrant under the water, by the way).
